The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority is undertaking the East Ramp Rehabilitation Project – Phase 1 at Orlando Executive Airport (ORL) to enhance airfield infrastructure, elevate safety, and improve the overall customer experience for airport users. This important project focuses on a highly active portion of the airfield that supports both domestic and international operations, reinforcing ORL’s role as a vital gateway for business and general aviation.

Construction work for Phase 1 includes the milling and overlay of existing asphalt pavement on the east ramp, along with associated pavement markings and upgrades to high mast lighting. These improvements will modernize ramp conditions, improve airfield visibility, and support efficient aircraft movement.

This section of the east ramp includes ORL’s U.S. Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) Federal Inspection Station, which accommodates approximately 1,000 international arrivals each year. Enhancing this critical facility area will directly improve the passenger and crew experience while supporting secure and efficient international operations.

The project involves careful phasing and coordination to ensure the USCBP ramp remains operational throughout construction. Maintaining continuous access for international flights is a priority, allowing ORL to continue serving its tenants and users with minimal disruption while improvements are underway. Upon completion, the East Ramp Rehabilitation Project – Phase 1 will deliver upgraded infrastructure that enhances safety, operational efficiency, and the overall experience for the airport’s international and customers.
