The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) is making significant investments to enhance and expand the availability and convenience of public parking at Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Currently, there are approximately 23,000 total public parking spaces throughout MCO’s campus, available in a mix of garage and surface parking lots.

Current projects include installing a new Parking Guidance System to help drivers quickly locate open spots, and converting the Terminal Top Parking Garage into dedicated Reserved Parking.

Ongoing and future investments will add 8,000 new spaces, expand Reserved Parking options, and make it easier and more seamless for travelers to find available parking. This is part of our goal to increase available public parking at the terminals by 2030. Learn more about our future parking projects here.

PROJECT COST: $13.9 Million

PROJECT TIMLINE: Current – Summer 2027

The GOAA Board approved installation of an Automated Parking Guidance System for all four of MCO’s parking garages: Garage A, Garage B, Terminal Top Garage, and Garage C. The addition of a Parking Guidance System in MCO’s garages reaffirms the Aviation Authority’s commitment to passenger satisfaction by providing seamless and efficient connectivity through services, innovation, and technology.

The selected guidance system is similar to those found at Central Florida attractions, hospitals, and many large-hub airports. Using digital signage on roadways, garage entry points, and throughout the garages, the camera-based system will provide real-time information about parking availability lane by lane.

PROJECT FACTS

  • Installation of the parking guidance system is underway in Garage C, with installation then scheduled for Garages A, B, and Terminal Top.

  • Crews will schedule the parking guidance system in phases, allowing customers to still access garages.

  • Once fully installed and placed into operation, the new system will provide real-time information on approximately 11,000 spaces located throughout MCO’s four parking garages.

  • The use of a parking guidance system will help customers seamlessly find available parking spaces, improve traffic flow, and enhance customer experience.

Reserved Parking at Orlando International Airport (MCO) enhances the customer experience by providing peace of mind with a guaranteed spot, making it easier to plan ahead and arrive on time for flights.

PROJECT FACTS

  • This project will make approximately 1,500 parking spots available for Reserved Parking within the Terminal Top Parking Garage, including adding proposed parking spaces on Level 11, and a dedicated parking area for guests staying at Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport.

  • Upon completion, MCO will have nearly triple the total number of Reserved Parking spaces available for guests.

  • There are currently approximately 715 Reserved Parking spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis in Garage C, Level 4.

Using the Orlando MCO app or website, guests can make an online reservation months or even minutes in advance. The cost is $32 per day. Any reservation canceled less than 24 hours in advance will be subject to a 100% forfeiture fee. The program is open to all travelers, including Brightline train passengers. There are no designated electric vehicle spaces in the Reserved Parking program at this time.

Developing these and other concepts will not only bring a tailored solution to parking challenges at MCO but will also decrease curb congestion, enhance road safety, and give passengers more options.
